The game was initially only announced for a PC and Nintendo Switch release, but has since included Xbox and PlayStation. However, it looks like that won't be the case anymore. Hollow Knight: Silksong was first revealed back in February 2019 and was later confirmed to release sometime in the first half of 2023. We're excited by how the game is shaping up, and it's gotten quite big, so we want to take the time to make the game as good as we can. We had planned to release in the 1st half of 2023, but development is still continuing. Hey gang, just a quick update about Silksong. He continued: “Expect more details from us once we get closer to release.” We're excited by how the game is shaping up, and it's gotten quite big, so we want to take the time to make the game as good as we can.” Hollow Knight: Silksong is in development for Switch.Over on Twitter, Team Cherry’s marketing and publishing lead Matthew Griffin said: “We had planned to release in the 1st half of 2023, but development is still continuing. It may not be playable yet, it may not have the heaviest marketing campaign either, but it does have a lot of information out there that, hopefully, can tide fans over until its next showing. Hollow Knight: Silksong is real and tangible. Wanting something new and concrete is understandable, hoping for a release date soon is okay, but for fans of the franchise, all of this is a good thing. It’s easy to see Hollow Knight: Silksong for what it is because it has put a lot of itself out there. There is plenty of information out there to whet the appetite of Hollow Knight lore lovers, including plenty of confirmed features that will manifest in the game. That’s not really the case for Hollow Knight: Silksong, though. ![]() It may not even make it to another showcase this year, and with several games being announced so early in development, information drought is a common issue nowadays. It wasn’t at E3, it wasn’t at the recent Nintendo Indie Direct, and it wasn’t at Gamescom. RPG elements are also tossed in with all of this, moreso than Hollow Knight, and they could end up being some of the biggest changes.Įven considering all of this, fans are wanting and waiting to learn more, hoping it is at event after event. Instead of using soul to heal like in Hollow Knight, Hornet will use silk in Silksong. Furthermore, while it is somewhat similar to Hollow Knight, Silksong’s fast travel seems rather unique- the Bell Beast. Hornet can craft weapons and tools, with the game also replacing the Geo currency with Rosary Beads. These quests, as it stands, are broken down in Hunt, Gather, Wayfinder, and Grand Hunt quest lines. There’s also a collection of NPCs, which will give Hornet quests. There are several Hollow Knight: Silksong bosses already confirmed, ranging from Lace to Steel Assassin Sharpe and more. Gameplay will be largely similar, with plans for over 165 different enemies. A few of the smaller areas of Hollow Knight: Silksong’s Pharloom have also been confirmed and detailed. A few details about Pharloom are known even, such as it having a shining citadel, being ruled by “Silk and Song,” being based around faith and pilgrimage, and having a gilded pin as part of its traditional weaponry. Hornet, captured and taken to Pharloom, must climb to the very top of this kingdom to discover the mystery of her being brought here. Originally a DLC for Hollow Knight, Silksong became so massive that it was only right it becomes its own game. ![]() ![]() Simulator games usually aim to recreate certain jobs or careers, and while Ships Simulator is no different, there was a lot more arcade-like gameplay to it instead.ĭoing some research, I first noticed that Ships Simulator looked basically identical to another game, Ships 2017. Piranesi’s popular Vedute ( 37.45.3 41.71.1.16 64.521.2 55.567.6 59.570.426), which eclipsed earlier views of Roman landmarks through their dynamic compositions, bold lighting effects, and dramatic presentation, shaped European conceptions to such an extent that Goethe, who had come to know Rome through Piranesi’s prints, was somewhat disappointed on his first encounter with the real thing. By 1747, Piranesi had begun the work for which he is best known, the Vedute di Roma (Views of Rome), and he continued to produce plates for the series until the year of his death in 1778. Etching also provided Piranesi with a livelihood, allowing him to turn one of his favorite activities, drawing the ancient and modern buildings of Rome, into a lucrative source of income. The knowledge of ancient building methods demonstrated by Piranesi’s archaeological prints allowed him to make a name for himself as an antiquarian-his Antichità Romane of 1756 ( 41.71.1.3 41.71.1.3) won him election to the Society of Antiquarians of London. Quickly mastering the medium of etching, Piranesi found in it an outlet for all his interests, from designing fantastic complexes of buildings that could exist only in dreams ( 37.45.3), to reconstructing in painstaking detail the aqueduct system of the ancient Romans. Whether or not Piranesi studied printmaking in Venice, it is certain that soon after his arrival in Rome in 1740, he apprenticed himself briefly to Giuseppe Vasi, the foremost producer of the etched views of Rome that supplied pilgrims, scholars, artists, and tourists with a lasting souvenir of their visit. Although he had limited success in attracting architectural commissions, this diverse training served him well in the profession that would establish his fame. Piranesi also received a thorough background in perspective construction and stage design. The son of a stonemason and master builder, he received practical training in structural and hydraulic engineering from a maternal uncle who was employed by the Venetian waterworks, while his brother, a Carthusian monk, fired the aspiring architect with enthusiasm for the history and achievements of the ancient Romans. ![]() ![]() One of the greatest printmakers of the eighteenth century, Piranesi always considered himself an architect. This statement by Giovanni Battista Piranesi, reported by one of his early biographers, in many ways sums up the man whose dreams of antiquity so often surpassed reality, from his earliest etchings of architectural fantasies to the fanciful restorations of ancient remains that he produced at the end of his career. “I need to produce great ideas, and I believe that if I were commissioned to design a new universe, I would be mad enough to undertake it.” ![]() ![]() The SITES "Falcon" (or "Spectre-HC") pistol may or may not be encountered with the original top-folding stock and foregrip (the samples sold in the United States as the "Spectre-HC" generally feature none of these the "Falcon" sold in Italy feature both, with the foregrip being removable). These weapons retain the main layout of the original "Spectre" submachine gun, are incapable of fully automatic fire, and the original magazine capacity is reduced for marketing in countries where the law requires it (such as Italy). The civilian-grade variants of the SITES "Spectre" M4 have namely been a semi-automatic pistol called the SITES "Falcon" (marketed in the United States as the "Spectre-HC") and a semi-automatic sub-carbine called the SITES "Ranger". Versions of the SITES "Spectre" M4 submachine gun specifically made for the civilian market have been around since the middle 1980s and up to the late 1990s, their production suffering a major backlash when the US Federal Assault Weapons Ban prohibited the import and sale of them on the American market, the biggest and most lucrative for this kind of item. Unconventional 50-round and 30-round capacity, four-column magazines are provided with the Spectre, but it can also use conventional two-column magazines. This allows the shooter to safely carry a round in the chamber and fire immediately as the double-action trigger eliminates the need for cocking prior to shooting. When the trigger is pulled in the double-action-like mode, the striker is retracted then dropped, firing the gun. ![]() When the decocker is activated the striker is dropped while a small flap that contacts the firing pin is retracted. The Spectre is used by the Italian special forces, and has been exported elsewhere. The largely steel Spectre has a polymer overmolded grip, magazine release and safety/selector levers. The four models have top-folding buttstocks, and were available with or without a forward handgrip ahead of the magazine housing. The Spectre is a compact and light weapon, designed for instant firepower in close combat at short ranges. This would have significantly affected Chinese immigrants, as keeping their queue was the only way to secure their chance of returning to China. In 1873, California, the Pigtail Ordinance was enforced this meant that all prisoners had to have their hair cut within an inch of their scalp. So a Chinese man without a queue was the same as a dead man. ![]() Not shaving your hair was treason against the emperor and was punishable by death. The policy of the Qing dynasty’s queue was “lose your hair, keep your head or lose your head, keep your hair”. ![]() Many men refused to shave their heads, to show defiance to the Qing rule, but were executed. Traditionally, Chinese men and women grew their hair long and then styled it in elaborate ways the queue denied them their cultural right to grow their hair. In the past, Manchu men shaved their heads except for a circle of hair on the crown, which they let grow long and picked up in a braid or queue. This traditional way of wearing hair is known in Chinese as binzi, and was imposed by manchu rulers on the local population after the conquest of China and the establishment of the Qng dynasty in 1636. The queue was originally a symbol of submission but was also a sign of repression the Qing Dynasty used this to show their dominance in China. It was then ordered that all Han Chinese* men had to shave and braid their hair (except for Buddhist monks and Taoist priests). In 1644, a Manchu army conquered China and thus the Qing dynasty born. The queue was a hairstyle in which the front and sides of the head were shaved and the rest was plaited into a braid, this was originally a Manchu (a north-eastern Chinese region) hairstyle. The queue hairstyle (or pigtail) was worn by Chinese men between the 1600s and the early 1900s. ![]() |
